Intro:
You’ve been thinking about a GPS unit but the Garmin or the Wahoo units aren’t into your budget?
What if you want a GPS bike computer for less than half of that? In the last 2 months I’ve been testing an almost bafflingly low-priced $55 Cycplus M1. It has an impressive spec sheet for $55, so let’s get deep into it!
Unboxing:
You’ll discover the Cycplus M1 unit in the box, along with a mount to secure it to your bike’s handlebar, a charging cable, and the user manual. It’s straightforward yet efficient!
The Package has a stunning design in the box you get the Cycplus M1 unit a carter-turn Garmin stem mount this means you can easily use the M1 on existing third party mounts.

Features:
A USB C cable yes it has a type c quick charge its 2024 and some brands still have a micro USB charging port so that’s a good point for Cycplus.
The design is modern, I like the Cycplus logo at the back of the device I can’t complain about the look, the M1 weights only 77,5 GRAMS it’s quite light and it feels well built.
The screen is 2.9 inch display the unit feels premium from the first impressions. with three physical buttons. Each of them do different actions depending on whether you do a short or a long press so can easily go from page 1 speed time + distance.
on page 2 you get also speed odometer + gradient, on page 3 speed ascent + altitude, on page 4 max speed + gradient and average speed + gradient.
The configuration menu can be entered at any time, by simply holding the right button down. There are a few configuration options
C2 connect ANT + speed / heart rate / cadence / powermeter
C3 changes wheel diameter only if you have a speed sensor connected to the unit.
C4 changes the time zone
C5 speed unit mp/h or km/h
C6 temperature unit Celsius or Fahrenheit
C7 resets all configuration options back to the factory defaults
C8 total mileage
C9 manually unpair all sensors
The Cycplus M1 has a phone app as the Bluetooth uploading system the Xoss app has a cool feature the moving 3D map it’s quite fun to use you can upload your rides instantly to Strava im impressed by the Bluetooth speed.
One of the most obvious signs of the budget price of the M1 is the bright backlight. There are 5 obvious bright spots where the bottom light elements are located.
The backlight is automatically on between 6pm to 9am. You can’t turned off during that time so it may run down the battery and could also be a distraction for some users.
Pros & Cons:
Reliable GPS data
The M1 does auto-pause active rides if you come to stop and that’s a good feature.
A smart looking unit with a 2.9 inch display which is quite large.
IPX6 water proof rating it should be fine if you ride a lot in winter times.
Great battery life it lasts for a weeks yes its impressive about 35 hours of use.
Easy to upload to Strava super fast Bluetooth Connection to the app.
Optimized hardware Easy and simple set up.
Now to the cons of the computer first There is no route planning or mapping, actually it’s expected to a 55$ GPS computer but that’s a quite good feature to have.
25% of the screen is useless if you do not have any sensors connected so that’s quite bad. You can’t change that space to do anything else.
Besides to all that I can’t complain, the Cycplus M1 is a budget friendly GPS unit. it’s only 55$ and you do get a lot of features for a very low price. For many, that’ll be enough.
There’s still plenty of features you can check them all at https://www.cycplus.com
Conclusion:
So if you’re on a budget you should go for it
