If you’re looking for an affordable, good looking and a limited edition bar, the Chromag OSX LTD is one of the most comfortable alloy bars out there. You’ll especially like it if you’re already a fan of the Canadian company’s aesthetic or have other Chromag components on your bike.
The OSX is a great-looking bar with nice graphics, which make it stand out from other bars on the market.
There’s a bunch of limited colours to pick from. you should be able to find a colour that suits your bike nicely. As standard, the bar comes in an 800mm width. Its made from 7000 series alloy
The Chromag OSX LTD has a 25mm rise, 31.8mm clamping diameter, and five-degrees of upsweep with eight-degrees of backsweep, with a listed weight of 325g.
Chromag claimed they used the 7050 series alloy, the aerospace grade aluminum to achieve ther required properties of strengh and toughness with added resistance to stress and corrosion.
The term heat treatment gets thrown around a lot, but most of the time the word consistency doesn’t come along with it. Depending on the batch an individual bar might be subjected to vastly different temperatures during the process. HTX ditches the disparity and provides uniform, quality heat treatment on every single bar.
By increasing the tapered sections and using a larger radius chromag have inherently built more strength into the shape of the OSX.
Variable butted wall thickness optimises strength in areas where needed, and keep the weight down in less strategic areas. The OSX has 7 different butting locations.
The great geometry make a noticeable improvement in comfort for both my wrists, neck, and back on long-distance rides.
I’ve been running the OSX bar on my Cannondale hardtail, which features a solid all-around and long-distance multi-surface rides. My typical outings on this setup range from 10-20 miles over several hours, which has me prioritizing comfort over minimal race weight.
The bars they take a ton of vibration out, its like riding a carbon bar without the carbon price they made this cheap bike set up way better. Definitely this is my going to bar for my 29er build!
Chromag bikes were nice enough to furnish me with a OSX bar for this review I hope you did enjoy the video as much as I did and don’t hesitate to learn more about the OSX at https://www.chromagbikes.com
