Intro:
Changing wheels is usually one of the best ways to upgrade your road bike, budget bikes even some fancy carbon frames come with wheels that are relatively lower spec than the frame itself.
Numerous advantages, such as reduced weight, increased stiffness, improved aerodynamics, decreased rolling resistance, and more comfort, might come from upgrading your wheels.
What’s in the box :
The wheels came with a nice handlebar bag wich is convenient to carry some tools or spare inner tube when you hit the road with your hyper’s
Review & features :
Launched as a second edition of the Hyper 23’s, the HYPER 23 SE shares many features with its big brother while still having some notable variances. The original Hyper’s were a huge hit.
We received the R45 version R stands for rim brake. The front wheel is 46 mm deep, and the rear wheel is 54 mm. This allows it to move quite quickly on flat terrains.
The Hyper 23 boasts extremely smooth ceramic bearings, but the 23 SE uses steel bearings, which are more reliable, long-lasting, and require less maintenance. It is common knowledge that ceramic bearings require replacement every few hundred kilometres. They feel incredibly smooth and have endless spin even with the steal bearings!
The SE’s are slightly more affordable and have a more attractive mat black finish than the 23’s, which they have a nice butterfly design.
With the butterfly finish and ceramic bearings, the 23’s are over $200 more expensive than these ostentatious wheels, which retail for $1200.
The Hyper 23 SE R45 are the greatest upgrade option if you still have a rim brake frame or if you just love rim brakes as much as I do! They also offer a disc brake version. it can be used as a gravel set; it is a feasible option.
They are designed for 25 and 28mm tires although, they can accommodate tyres ranging in width from 25 up to 47 mm, according to Winspace, with an internal rim width of 21 mms. For those who enjoy big tyres, that is pretty great.
Because of its hooked b design, the rims are allowing you to use regular tyres and inner tubes if you’d like.
The hubs and rims are connected with Lún’s unique carbon aero bladed spokes, which are often only seen on pricier wheels. In addition to being far more rigid than steel spokes, carbon spokes also don’t deteriorate with time, making your wheel far less likely to run off true.
